The BBC reporting on UN's Global Environmental Outlook, GEO 4, October 25, 2007: "Humanity is living so far beyond its means, its very existence is threatened." The widely accepted paradigm of consumption & acquisition, of short-termdecisions based on economic calculations clearly threatens our collective future. So we ask ourselves the question - What does it mean to be human and what do we do now? Spiritually and energetically, we are one. The larger "I" collectively holds key to current challenges. The ultimate trimtab is people changing their perspective and choices based on information founded on natural law. As a species, we are challenged to bring answers together quickly; to find the most effective and efficient way. It is a shared and concurrent teaching and learning apparatus that we seek, and a means of spreading that teaching and learning. The communication and technology revolution offers application to addressing our common challenges. It represents a way of connecting unlike anything we've experienced previously. The paradox is that we can use technology to reconnect relationship with the earth, ourselves and each other. But the technology is only a tool to help facilitate awakening to our true nature and opportunity. Local physical nodes in the system are needed also in order to help translate potential models in an appropriate way. The Baja BioSana project is designed to establish a virtual network of collaborators, or 'vision builders' and a replicable process that allows holistic solutions to coalesce, evolve and spread, virus - like. Initial solutions can be showcased at the Baja BioSana site and spread from this inception point. In this manner, the project enrichs existing networks of those working to establish 'nodes of permanence' on spaceship earth, as well as becoming 'seed crystals' for demonstrating solutions within the local bioregion. We think of our project as being part of a mycelium web in transmitting and connecting to bring forth expressions of what we know to be possible. The Baja BioSana site is 20 acres of partially cleared and degraded farmland in the foothills of the La Laguna Mountains in Baja California Sur, Mexico envisioned to develop into a demonstraton site for community-based solutions addressing four core areas: the physical, social and spiritual environments, and the economic or energy environment. The local bioregion is challenged by it's own development process associated with rapid tourism growth, water management, habitat loss and definition of 'appropriate sustainable development' for the region. As such, it represents a microcosm of many global challenges. This process, involving active participatory learning, uses web-based and on-site strategies in making the process a living lesson and evolutionary display that can be shared and replicated. Among current project founders, there exist many critical skills, but much additional input will be sought from those who are demonstrating solution in a particular field of endeavor. The structure seeks to recognize true solution without limiting inclusion. Many people globally have participated in projects with similar ideals and many have been successful to some degree. What is unique about this project is the proposed process/model that allows for rapid shared learning. Our proposed approach is premised on the following understanding: True solution respects truth, answers a challenge, and leads to abundance for all evolving life on earth through a deepened appreciation and respect fornatural law. We recognize that a sustainable system is one that, over its lifetime, produces the resources needed to build and sustain itself. Such systems exhibit characteristics of cooperation, collaboration, and community - whether observed as a functional ecosystem, or a healthy community of cells within the body. Solution to Financing The purchase of the land and initial site assessment and planning has been self-financed via contributions from project founders. Additional funds for the project are to be raised through establishment of a group of 'vision builders' who will participate both on-site and by Internet in project evolution. At each critical step of project design or implementation, workshops and training sessions will be organized to financially support the process, as well as to engage a wider group of stakeholders. This model is envisioned along the lines of the 'Tribe Wanted' (www.tribewanted.com) concept of creating a virtual reality with a bridge to reality that creates a growing online library of resources related to the process. It builds a fair exchange of energy principle into the fabric of the project. Economic Viability Education and information shall be' the core product' to serve economic activity. This will be shared via workshop and events and via internet. Solution-based content is a growing category of interest for the global community as people realize the old 'consumer' paradigm has lost its validity. Earth healing will be the urgent task of this generation, and to the degree a project can contribute to that process locally, it will have a viable service to provide, and one that will contribute to the economic viability of the site and the bioregion. Life enhancing solutions produce abundance. Other economic activities will be established based on founder skills and Interests within project ethics. Plans to implement this effort have been organized in several phases: A. Land identification and purchase associated with identification of project founders: completed. B. Development of a strategy to evolve core visible (physical) and invisible (social, legal and other) structures; outlined below: Following step 1, Steps 2-4 would be carried out concurrently and inform each other.
· “Tribe Wanted” Model development team · Share vision of “True Solution” · Share visions of Master “Vision Builders” · Establish membership for “Vision Builders” Ex./ 1 yr. Membership for $300, Benefits: o Access to blogs for vision input o Access to all information of the design process o Video and audio of all seminars o Opportunity to respond to all design decisions o One week stay at site for hands on training (food and sleeping accommodations provided)
· Establish Topic Flow ( review input from members and founders) · Establish List of Master Vision Builders available for each topic · Establish Schedule · Invitation to locals, local farming community, local developers, investors and appropriate government interests, vision builders and internet contacts
· Growing and producing food of the highest life force abundantly · Physical Surroundings exhibit the truest aspects of “ the Garden of Eden” · Healing Center for releasing Spiritual, Mental, Emotional and Physical challenges · Life Force Energy and Agronomy Lab. · Stage Area for Joyous Celebration · Consulting and outreach · Educational system for local children based on development of emotional intelligence · Ecospiritual tourism and retreat Our vision is to co-create the following
A physical environment: High yield, biodiverse, soil-building, earth-shading, carbon- sequestering, life-food, perennial growing systems ('ecosystemic' agriculture); that focuses on permaculture designed system integrating the physical site infrastructure and systems harmoniously; A social environment: Whose land is held by non-profit entity; that allows cooperative ventures via flexible structure; that contributes to a vibrant local community, and connects to other "nodes of excellence" internationally. A spiritual environment: Living in respect of earth, and all inhabitants sharing spiritual practices that support our connection with each other and the greater powers, across religion. An economic or energy environment: Operating off-grid energy systems via solar and other sources that is economically self-sustaining
