Hello Breather! I began to write this newsletter on Friday, July 29. I was in Buenos Aires. Now it is August 3 and I am back in Amarillo, Texas. I agreed to go back in May 2006. Everyone I met in Argentina was so sincere, so genuine, so willing to live, love and learn, so willing to grow and heal. I worked hard and I had a lot of fun there! And most of all, I learned a lot: a lot about life, about the world, about myself, and others. For example, it occurred to me many people are living their lives in a way that everyday, they keep coming up against their limitations. They seem to be constantly and repeatedly confronting their limits, their limited abilities to integrate thoughts, feelings, sensations, and emotions. Life situations, life circumstances, life events keep bringing them to the point of fatigue or overwhelm. And so they feel the need to rest, the need to take a break from life—to get away from people and situations. They cope with life by making changes to their situations. But to be truly renewed and refreshed, what needs to change are not the things in our lives, but the way we live! In reality life is living through us. Perfect, infinite life is having its way with us. We are not living life. Life is living us! When we realize this, when we allow it to be so, then everyday in every way, we come upon points of grace. We experience freedom where before we encountered only limitations! Our experience of life comes by way of thoughts, feelings, sensations, and emotions. These things arise and fall away again and again. Over time, as we learn not to react to each one, we see that they come as a continuous flow. They pass through the life we think we are living. They come and go like waves. When beautiful waves come, we often try to hold on to them or contain them. When not so beautiful, not so glorious, not so wonderful waves come, we fight them and avoid them. Instead, we should be learning to ride them, or to simply let them pass. We need to become good surfers in life. Of course we may get caught from time to time by the strong currents of thoughts and feelings. Waves can move us in ways that we don’t want: life may take us into experiences we don’t like. We live in a world where these things happen. That’s just the way it is. But if we practice breathing and relaxing thru these things, if we remember to accept and allow them, then these waves always bring us insights. They always lead to stillness and peace. Good surfers learn that even the most beautiful and perfect waves can sometimes carry them onto the rocks, where they can end up banged and bruised. And so they learn to remain conscious and awake. They learn how to turn away or to turn into the waves. We need to do the same in life. And we also need to learn to turn inward, to drop down below the surface… into the ocean of peace and joy and love. This is a place of stillness. And it is our real true home. From here we can watch the waves that temporarily catch us. We can watch them pass away, moving on toward some distant shore. From this place of stillness we can also sense the approaching waves. We can choose to dive deep when they come, allowing them to pass by along the surface above. Or from this place of peace, we can also choose to move along the surface of the ocean in the direction of the waves, and we can learn to ride them for the sheer pleasure of being alive! This is an art, the art of living. It is the art of going with the flow, and also the art of dropping down below. We can learn to squeeze all the juice out of life. We can learn to live in a way that maximizes the potential in each moment. We can learn to enjoy the beautiful waves that come and go, and we can learn to gracefully ride out all the others. We can learn to honor and celebrate all the waves: whether wonderful or terrible. This is so very important. It is acknowledging the perfection of life. When we keep coming up against our limitations, when life seems to cause us stress, it is not life that is the problem. Nothing in life needs to change. Life is perfect. The problem is in the way that we are living life in each moment. In the end, it is not what we do or don’t do that matters most. What matters most is what is happening inside of us while we are doing or not doing. Love and Joy and Peace are happening at our core… This is life as it is…! This is what and how we need to live. Everything else is optional. Everything else is mind-made. And when anything other than this comes, we need to use whatever is, to use it either for fun or for learning. Aaahhh… what beautiful days we lived in the city called “Good Air!” Next on the schedule is a special weekend event in Covington, Louisiana (near new Orleans). I will be joining with Ravi Krishnamurthy, PhD, and Wendy Gardner for a “Workshop with Energy Transfer and Enlightenment.” August 12-15. We all feel that humanity poised for an evolutionary quantum leap and very profound and radical acceleration into a whole new way of living—the natural state of enlightenment. Love and Oneness are the theme. Everyone is invited! Contact Wendy: redswamp@aol.com; Tel: 310-428-6887. After that, Will and I will drive to the East Coast (New Bedford / Providence / Boston area), and we’ll be available for individual and group sessions. You can reach me by phone: 508-345-7574. From September 1-8, I’m going back to Italy for another week of miracles with John and Gaia on the Hill That Breathes. (www.thehillthatbreathes.com). Then it’s on to Paris, Sept 9-19. (Contact Dhimat: jmjacot@noos.fr). Then it’s on to the magical “Three Treasures Community” in Lithuania: Sept: 23–Oct 3. Contact: nvolmer@sala.lt. Right now I am thinking of going to Central Russia for a week right after Lithuania. And in the end of October, it’s back to Cancun, Mexico. November brings a Special Spiritual Purification Training… in India! The adventure begins in Delhi around 5th of November. We’ll drive to Rajistan to vist the Sariska Forest yogi, Bhatraji. And of course, we’ll travel north to Babaji’s Ashram in Haidakhan. (In 1980, as I was leaving the ashram, knowing that it would be many years before I returned, I asked Babaji: “If I come back, will you be here to meet me?” He said: “Of course. Whenever you come, I will be here. You will see me.”) It has been 25 years and so I am going back to… to see Babaji. We will also visit the “Golden City” to receive Deeksha from Bhagavan. And we’ll head south to visit Sai Baba. Along the way we’ll stop and stay in some magical places, such as Rishikesh, to meet and greet some of the lesser known but perhaps more intriguing… “Immortal Yogis of India.” We’ll also visit some of the classic tourist attractions. We will leave India around the 30th of November. If you want to join us, I need to know as soon as possible, so that we can finalize all the travel arrangements by September 15th. I’m asking $1250 as training and guide fee. (For those of you who are enrolled in one of my 1-Year Trainings, this fee is already included in you tuition. For those of you who would like to participate in a 1-Year Training, this fee can be applied toward your tuition.) In any case, you can you should plan for an additional $1000 for in-country living and travel expenses. (But remember that in India, everything is negotiable!) Of course the cost of your round trip ticket to India will depend on where you are starting from. You can leave with us from New York City, or you can meet us in Delhi.
