But before I go on…
You should know that the 2020 February Baja Retreat and Breath Mastery Training is already filling up! And so, if you would like to apply for one of the only 15 spots, contact Louise (office@breathmastery.com) or Anastasia (sovayda@gmail.com).
Some of you may know that this training started as my personal retreat. My friend Dr. Ela Manga and Author of “BREATHE: Strategizing Energy in the Age of Burnout” might say it was a “deep recovery loop.”
In 2007, I had already been teaching Breathwork non-stop for over 30 years. I had trained over a 100,000 people and traveled to nearly 40 countries. I was on a plane returning from Europe to the USA after the most financially successful month of my career.
My thoughts turned to finding a new and permanent home for the training center. The first phone call I got was from my friend Will Quenan in New Orleans. And wouldn’t you know it, the first thing he said was, “I just found the perfect place to build a teaching and learning center. Do you want to partner with me in some land in Mexico?”
The dream was suddenly a reality. And so, I wrote what I called “The Final Sermon on the Breath” and moved to Los Cabos with a plan to retire, or at least sit still and have people start coming to me for a change.
I set up camp, started tending the orchards and put in the first gardens. I fasted on fruit and hiked up into the mountains. I went back and forth to the ocean. I soaked in the hot springs and the cool mountain streams and waterfalls. I did some serious hammock meditations, and I fell in love with sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights for the first time… again!
After a couple of months, Nature, Bio Sana and the Breath had done their magic, and I had more energy and inspiration than ever before. Invitations from around the world were piling up, and so instead of retiring or sitting still in Mexico, I found myself traveling and teaching more than ever before!
As they say: “When we make plans God smiles.”
I remained committed to recharging and renewing myself each year, and to forwarding the Bio Sana vision, mission and aim. I began to invite students to join me on my annual retreats. And the rest, as they say, is history.
This year, we officially outgrew Baja Bio Sana. Together with two good friends Lars and Peter, I bought another piece of property known as Casa Finnegan. It’s in a perfect spot between Bio Sana and the hot springs in El Chorro, and it has two really nice houses already built on the property.
And, thanks to the amazing group of students and teachers who came this year, I was inspired to set out on realizing the next dream: “The Cabo Breath Fest.” The idea is to make Cabo THE place to be every February for breath workers and breathing enthusiasts from all over the world.
The theme for 2020 Cabo Breath Fest is Vision, Clarity, and Focus. And already, some of the biggest names in the breathing world and some of my favorite people are planning to come! We will be holding a series of events all around Los Cabos.
You’ll hear more about the festival and we’ll be launching www.cabobreathfest.com very soon. In the meantime, if you would like to join the team, volunteer, contribute, or take part in the festival, let me know. And be sure to contact Nicole Price our event coordinator: nicole@aroundchicagoevents.com.
And now back to what’s been happening and what’s next…
We just finished a program in Istanbul called The Healing Power of the Breath. I am so grateful to Elena who traveled all the way from Russia to organize everything, and to Tilsim and Alper for hosting our group.
Most of all, I want to thank everyone who took part in the training. What a pleasure it was to work with such an open, loving, and sincere group of souls.
