Recently, we have been focusing on breathing not just as a biological function, but as a divine gift, as a spiritual discipline. We have been focusing on using our breath to open the heart, create inner stillness, and deepen our connection to ourselves, each other, life and the world.
So this month, I want to invite you to give your relationship to the breath more attention and appreciation. With all that is happening in terms of digital technology, AI, virtual meetings, political divisions and religious wars, it is more important than ever that we use our breath to raise our consciousness and to deepen our spiritual connections.
Don’t allow your breathing to remain unconscious, automatic and unappreciated. Learn to bring intentional awareness to your breathing and use your breath as a gateway to higher consciousness and spiritual power. Experience breath as a bridge between your body and mind, between your physical and spiritual nature.
Breathing is the only autonomic function of the body that we can consciously control. This makes it a perfect tool for inner transformation. By playing with the rhythm, depth, and pace of our breathing, we can shift our state from stress to calm, from mindless activity to conscious creation.
When we observe and regulate our breathing, we naturally become more present. This present-moment awareness pulls us out of mental loops about the past and future and anchors us in the precious now. Conscious Breathing naturally quiets the mind, softens the ego, and invites a deeper, higher state of being.
Breathwork opens us to profound peace and it awakens us to expanded states of consciousness. It helps us access repressed emotions, and it connects us to higher intelligence.
We use breathing techniques not just for physical, psychological and emotional healing, but for profound spiritual experiences, to create moments of unity, insight, and as a way to connect to something greater than ourselves.
Breathwork brings up unresolved emotions, and by feeling and releasing these energies, we create a space for deeper awareness and clarity. With a quieter mind and a more open heart and a relaxed body, our intuition becomes stronger, more accessible and trustworthy.
Breathwork stimulates and balances our chakras, and this supports spiritual awakening and inner harmony. Breathwork triggers powerful mystical experiences, feelings of oneness, encounters with divine presence, and it awakens us to a profound sense of love and peace that transcends everyday reality.
If you’re new to breathwork, start simple:
Spend time every day simply observing your breath. Watch, listen and feel your inhales and exhales without trying to control the breathing. Practice simple practical things like the Triangle Breath and Box Breathing. And especially play with Connected breathing!
We must remember that breath is more than air—it is life, it is spirit, it is presence. In every moment, it offers us the opportunity to return to ourselves, to awaken from our robot-like emotional reactions, and it helps us to drop into deeper consciousness.
Through breathwork, we reconnect with the sacred within us and around us. The path to spiritual awakening doesn’t require that we go anywhere. All we need to do is to breathe with more awareness, with more passion and enthusiasm, and with more intention.
If you can experience every breath as a blessing, and if you decide to make every breath a prayer, your life will open and unfold in some very magical ways! There will be no space for fear or anger or violence, or for suffering or pain.
So, wake up, let go, and take charge! Get a handle on your energy and your attention by getting a handle on your breath! Use it to become more human and more divine! Practice, practice, practice!
Good luck, and many blessings,
Dan (Guchu Ram Singh)
