This past spring, I attended a national psychological conference in the Ukraine. Over 600 psychiatrists, psychotherapists and psychology students were there. I got up in front of this group and began to think out loud: “What the heck am I doing here? What am I doing in the middle of 600 psychologists and psychotherapists?” Looking out at the audience, my mind went blank and I could only think of a joke: “Psychologists build castles in the air. Psychotherapists live in them. And psychiatrists collect the rent every month!” No one laughed.
