21 Day Breathing – Day 12
In this lesson, Dan Brulé explores an advanced practice that links breathing with the “four dimensions of awareness”: internal, external, narrow, and broad. Dan explains how you can direct your attention like a laser (narrow focus) or open it up to take in everything around and within you (broad focus), and then consciously shift between these modes. He emphasizes using the breath as the steering wheel for awareness—breathing into a single body part for internal narrow focus, or into every cell of the body for internal broad focus, or breathing with awareness spread across the whole environment for external broad focus. Dan also describes external narrow focus, like concentrating on one tiny object in the room, and then switching deliberately among all four dimensions. The core of the lesson is training yourself to decide where your attention and energy go, instead of letting habits, fears, or outside influences control your focus, using breath as the main tool for this mastery.
