This month, we are focusing on using Breathwork to expand our awareness and raise our consciousness.

Are you ready? That’s not a rhetorical question. Ask and honestly answer it for yourself. Because some people may not be ready, willing or able to do this vital inner work.

But I have found that genuine Breathworkers are devoted to life-long learning and personal growth, and to spiritual awakening and development. They are committed to serving others, and to leaving this world in better shape than they found it.

I trust this is true of you, which means that expanding your awareness, raising your consciousness, and opening your heart, is very important to you. And so I’d like to share some lessons with you from one of my earliest teachers who helped me to do just that: Ken Keyes Jr.

He is the author of The Handbook to Higher Consciousness, Taming Your Mind, A Conscious Person’s Guide to Relationships, Three Prescriptions for Happiness, and many other works.

I encourage you to explore his teachings for yourself, especially his Twelve Pathways. Using them will change your life. And I encourage you to explore his model of the 7 Levels or Centers of Consciousness. They correlate to the seven chakras.

Ken taught me that most of the world is stuck and living from only the first three levels of consciousness: Security, Sensations and Power.

When our consciousness is dominated by these three lower centers, we pursue only what we need to feel safe and secure. We constantly seek more and different pleasurable sensations. And we are focused mostly on attaining more wealth, power, control, and prestige.

An enlightened life–a real life–begins when we awaken our heart, or what Ken called the “Love Center.” Then we are no longer obsessed with fulfilling only our personal needs, we feel unconditional love and acceptance for ourselves and we feel a natural desire to serve and uplift others.
From this place, we can open and grow into the three highest levels or centers of consciousness: “Cornucopia, Conscious Awareness, and Cosmic Consciousness.”

When we open all our centers of consciousness, we live in a more or less continuous experience of love and happiness and of inner peace. We experience abundance and we see through the illusion of separateness, and into the natural beauty and perfection in ourselves and others.

Ken’s philosophy and his approach to life were baked into my original Rebirthing-Breathwork practice. Breathwork became my way of embodying his teachings. And I made Breath Mastery my personal path to self-mastery and life mastery.

I am eternally grateful to Ken and all my spiritual teachers, and to everyone who has helped, guided, motivated, and inspired me to do this work.
And if you are really interested in Breath Mastery, Spiritual Breathing or Rebirthing Breathwork, then you owe it to yourself to explore the work of Ken Keyes

That’s all for now.
Good luck in your practice.
And many blessings on your path.
